The European Union is ready to develop a constructive dialogue with Ukraine, MEP, chairman of the European Parliament Committee on Foreign Affairs Elmar Brok said during the meeting with Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov.

As the Cabinet’s press service informs, the further development of the EU-Ukraine relations in the context of the European Parliament resolution adopted on December 13, 2012 were discussed during the meeting.

In particular, Brock stressed the readiness to support Ukraine in carrying out political and economic reforms aimed at achieving European standards. He added that the EU is ready for intense collaboration, the purpose of which should be the signing of the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement.

In turn, Azarov said that Ukraine considers the resolution of the European Parliament the sign of openness to further deepening of bilateral cooperation and a willingness to support Ukraine in implementing reforms. The PM reiterated Ukraine's commitment to the EU's common values, commitment to strengthening democratic standards, respect for the rule of law and human rights, the independence of the judiciary.
