Chairman of the National Bank of Ukraine board Ihor Prasolov believes that currency in Ukraine should be exchanged exclusively in the banking institutions.

"I believe that, as in all developed countries, currency transactions should be done in the banks, directly controlled by the National Bank," Prasolov said in interview.
According to him, the currency panic is often provoked by exchange points.

"Exchange points have played not the better role in two cases of the high wave of panic, we've seen this fall," the financier said.

Prasolov noted that in the future banks will continue reducing the number of exchange points.

Earlier, the NBU, in particular head of the NBU department on currency frauds Yuri Horshkov, stated that the regulator does not intend to prohibit the currency exchange, but considers that the banks, not exchange points, should perform such transactions.
