Ukrainian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov instructed to create the winter permanent operational headquarters in the Cabinet of Ministers. The corresponding order has been given at the meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine on December 17, 2012, the Cabinet’s press service informs.
Azarov said that over the last few days the weather has prepared a serious test, mostly in the western regions of the country. There have been snow drifts on many roads, causing traffic jams.
The considerable forces of rescuers and military men have been attracted. By Monday morning, traffic was almost restored. Currently, the work is continuing on the resumption of power supply in the villages affected by the weather. However, according to forecasters, the snowstorm has not yet terminated.
"All services worked quickly on Saturday and Sunday. I want to thank everyone, who took part in the liquidation of bad weather. - Azarov said. - We need to draw conclusions and be prepared for such natural test. Winter is just beginning".
The Prime Minister instructed the Cabinet to establish the permanent operational headquarters, which will involve the heads of almost all Ministries, in particular the Emergencies Ministry, the Defense Ministry, the Infrastructure Ministry, the Interior Ministry, the Social Policy Ministry, the Healthcare Ministry, etc.
Azarov said that the staff has to work around the clock to take quick and consistent solutions to comprehensively address the problems associated with the adverse winter weather.
