In Ukraine, since December 16, according to the passed May 24 law on amending some laws on the improvement of certain provisions limiting smoking, smoking is prohibited in all public places.
In particular, according to the law, smoking cigarettes, electronic cigarettes and hookahs are prohibited in elevators and payphones, health care services, education establishments, playgrounds, sports and fitness sanitary facilities and institutions of physical culture, in the doorways of houses, in subways, on public transport, in cafes, restaurants, and cultural facilities, in state and local government bodies and other state institutions, on fixed route vehicles stops.
In addition, smoking is prohibited on the premises of enterprises, institutions and organizations of all forms of property, in hotels and similar accommodation facilities of citizens, dormitories at airports and railway stations, except for specially designated areas.
An owner, a person authorized by him or tenants should equip special smoking areas, the area of which should not exceed 10% of the total area of the corresponding structure or premises, should be equipped with exhaust ventilation or other means to remove the smoke.
The owners of establishments, in case of violation of the smoking ban, shall be fined from one to ten thousand hryvnia.
