Adoption of the Resolution of the European Parliament on the situation in Ukraine has witnessed the consolidated vision of the EU institutions to further deepen cooperation with Ukraine, in particular regarding the Association Agreement signing, the Foreign Ministry comment reads.
"We welcome the clear message of the European Parliament on the need for the EU to provide active support Ukraine in its reform efforts," the comment emphasizes and notes that "the agreement will certainly be a powerful incentive and the best tool for the successful promotion of Ukraine on this way".
In addition, the Ukrainian party hopes that the changes to the Chengen Borders Code will be considered by the European Parliament without further delay. The Foreign Ministry is sure that "it will make possible to further cooperation with the EU in the introduction of joint border control, to facilitate human contacts".
The Ministry’s comment emphasizes that "Ukraine carefully studies the conslusions of the international observers, including those of the European Parliament on the results of monitoring of the parliamentary elections on Oct. 28, 2012 in Ukraine. The recommendations to be included in the final ODIHR report, which will be released soon, will be considered in the subsequent reform of the electoral legislation of Ukraine in order to bring it to the best international standards".
"The continued fruitful cooperation with the European Union is extremely important in the context of introducing comprehensive reforms in Ukraine. In this regard, we reaffirm our willingness for further cooperation with the EP mission delegates Aleksander Kwasniewski and Pat Cox," the Foreign Ministry of Ukraine stresses.
