Preparatory group has approved the scheme of MPs seating in the session hall of the Verkhovna Rada.

As ForUm correspondent reports, the parliamentarians needed more than an hour to approve the scheme.

The MPs considered five variants of seating. The most controversial issue was seats for the self-nominated MPs, since the representatives of the majority argued that the place near the parliamentary tribune and those visible from the press box, should be occupied by the party representatives.

The head of the working group, Volodymyr Lytvyn noted: "It is easy to enter the parliament by a party list. We need to show more respect for the self-nominees, who fought for themselves in the elections”.

The Party of regions member Oleksandr Yefremov supported Lytvyn.

After all, the alternative seating scheme by David Zhvania, which does not differ much from the one proposed by the parliament’s staff, was approved. The only difference is that the self-nominated MPs, about 50 people, are to occupy the seats of the Our Ukraine Party on the right side of the hall, near the government box.

As Lytvyn noted, the seating scheme can be revised, if necessary.
