This year, the Kyiv City State Administration will spend 1.2 million UAH for the New Year holidays, the remaining funds in the amount of six million UAH will be paid by sponsors, chairman of the KCSA Oleksandr Popov said during an expanded meeting of the board of the KCSA on organization of the New Year holidays 2013 and lighting of the main Christmas tree, ForUm correspondent reports.

In addition, Popov stressed the city government tries to use not all budget resources for cultural activities, so that state funds will be sent on social protection of Kyiv citizens.

By January 19, 2013, the New Year and Christmas town will work on Khreshchatyk, where various workshops for the production of toys will be organized.

On the eve of Christmas, January 6, the guests will be entertained by singing different traditional Ukrainian carols.

In total, the capital will hold almost 500 mass cultural activities during the holidays.
