
State visit to India should give a new impetus to the development of relations between the two countries, and to enhance contacts between the representatives of business circles, President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych said in an interview with The Hindu Indian English-language edition on the eve of his visit to India, the President’s press service informs.
"I expect a significant intensification of our trade and economic relations, and, of course, they must be accompanied by political contacts at the highest level," he said.
He added that Ukraine is ready to develop cooperation in various fields, particularly in energy, metallurgy, chemical industry, shipbuilding, mechanical engineering.
The President expressed confidence that Ukraine and India have significant potential to increase trade turnover. "The range of products is of mutual interest," Yanukovych said.
