As of early December 2012, Ukraine exported 12.2 million tons of grain, agrarian policy and food minister Mykola Prysiazhniuk told a press conference, ForUm correspondent reports.
"Indicators of the past two months exceed the recorded indicators two-fold for the last seven years. Total grain export in the last five months is very active. Thus, as of beginning of December, the actual amount of grain export totaled 12.2 million tons," he said.
The minister said that this year farmers have exported 5.6 million tons of wheat, 4.7 million tons of maize and 1.8 million tons of barley.
According to him, the high grain exports this year are primarily reasoned by the proper level of cooperation between the state and grain trading companies.
