The task of the state budget of Ukraine for 2013 is to maintain and strengthen the positive trends of economic development of the previous years, acting Prime Minister Mykola Azarov said, commenting on the passing the state budget for the next year, the Cabinet’s press service informs.

According to him, the Verkhovna Rada of the sixth convocation performed the main task of this year, having passed the state budget for next year. "This means that now all the regional, city and district councils will hold the sessions to pass the local budgets. This will allow us to form all local budgets until the New Year," Azarov said.

He noted that the state budget for 2013 is anti-crisis one, and its main task is to ensure the development of the Ukrainian economy under the global financial and economic crisis. The budget for the next year was composed, taking into account the extremely difficult environment for economic development.

The Prime Minister added that the state budget provides for an increase in pensions and salaries. Thus, a living wage, minimum wage, minimum pension has almost doubled compared to 2009. "It is the result of the stable economy development, we have had over the last two and a half years," he summed up.

The official said that the government may to review the state budget in the first quarter of 2013, as such a possibility is provided for in the law.  According to Azarov, some Ministries and departments, while planning the budget, were "extremely cautious" and have lowered the rates.
