In Dublin, within the 19th Meeting of the OSCE Ministerial Council will be held, Ukrainian foreign minister Kostyantyn Hryshchenko met with OSCE Parliamentary Assembly President Riccardo Migliori, the Foreign Ministry press service informs.
During the meeting, the minister said that Ukraine appreciates the contribution of the OSCE PA to the goals of the organization and will pay due attention to the parliamentary activities within the OSCE as the OSCE 2013 chair.
According to Hryshchenko, development of inter-parliamentary dialogue between the OSCE member states corresponds to the interests of strengthening security and cooperation in the area of responsibility of the Organization.
Discussing the current issues of cooperation between the OSCE PA and the Office of the Democratic Institutions and Human Rights in the field of election observation in the OSCE member states, the parties noted the importance of ensuring the highest standards of election monitoring by the OSCE.
OSCE PA President praised the openness of the Ukrainian authorities during his visit to Ukraine on the eve of parliamentary elections earlier this year. Migliori invited foreign minister as the future OSCE chairman to take part in the key events held by the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly in 2013.
