The first session of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine of the seventh convocation will begin on December 12 with the ceremonial meeting.

As ForUm correspondent reports, according to the speaker of the Verkhovna Rada of the sixth convocation, head of the preparatory group Volodymyr Lytvyn, the registration of the newly elected MPs will start from 8.50 a.m. "The ceremonial meeting and the procedure of signing the oath will happen from 10.00 to 12.00," he said.

The MPs will take and sign the oath, as well as receive their certificates in the session hall.
"At 12.00 we’ll start the first session. The oldest MP of the 7th convocation will announce its opening," Lytvyn said.

In addition, at the meeting of the preparatory group there were announced names of MPs, who will form a temporary presidium: Petro Symonenko from the Communist Party, Oleksandr Yefremov from the Party of Regions, Vitaly Kovalchuk from the UDAR, Ruslan Koshulinsky from the Svoboda. The Fatherland is still undecided with its representative.

300 people will be invited to the first session of the new Parliament. Among them are the President, the Prime Minister and members of the Cabinet, the head of the Central Election Commission, the head and the judges of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine, the head of the Supreme Court, the Prosecutor General, the Commissioner for Human Rights, the head of the Audit Chamber, the deputies of the previous convocation.

In addition, all the presidents of the independent Ukraine and speakers of the previous convocations are invited. The guest list also includes chief of staff of the Parliament, the head of the Presidential Administration, the head of the Supreme Council of the ARC, the mayor of Kyiv, Sevastopil city council leaders and regional councils, representatives of diplomatic missions and religious groups.
