The Council of the Heads of State of the CIS Countries has opened its meeting in a narrow format in Ashgabat on Wednesday. After that, the parties will continue negotiations in an extended format.
The delegations of Russia, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine and Tajikistan are led state leaders. Azerbaijani side is led by the Prime Minister of this country, Kyrgyzstan - Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic, and Moldova - the Prime Minister.
Following the meeting, a package of documents will be signed. The statements to the press made, the heads of delegations will attend the reception on behalf of the President of Turkmenistan.
Opening the meeting of the Council of Heads of State, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said that the participants are going to address a number of issues, in particular, it has been proposed to consider a declaration of all-round development of the Commonwealth, to decide on the Chairman of the Executive Committee. In addition, he noted that the agenda includes the question of the celebration of the 70th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War.
