Three Ukrainian sailors from the sunken ship near Turkey were found, Ukraine’s Foreign Ministry informs, referring to Consulate General in Istanbul.
"Three Ukrainians and a Russian were found in a life raft. Turkish rescuers are now attempting to get these people on board of a rescue vessel or helicopter," the press service statement reads.
The body of a deceased sailor has also been found and taken ashore.
The rescuers are currently continuing a search and rescue operation, which is seriously complicated by strong winds and a storm at the scene of the accident.
The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry, the Ukrainian Embassy in Turkey and Ukraine's Consulate General in Istanbul are overseeing the case.
