The Defense Ministry may receive 18.8 billion UAH the state budget, first deputy defense minister Volodymyr Mozharovsky told a briefing, ForUm correspondent reports.
"Initially, the government planned to allocate 22.8 billion UAH to the Defense Ministry the next year. Yesterday it was discussed in the government, and the Defense Ministry agreed to get 18.8 billion UAH. But, of course, we do not know the numbers. We will wait for the decision of the Verkhovna Rada," Mozharovsky said
At the same time, according to him, the amount of 22.8 billion UAH was optimal to meet all the needs of the Ministry.
"But 18.8 billion UAH is a nominal sum that will maintain the dynamics of development and improve social protection of servicemen," he noted.
