On December 1, 2012, the World AIDS Day, society unites to get over an epidemic, which could touch everyone, Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych said in his address to the nation.
"Ukraine, for which this problem is very acute, is taking the required measures to reduce the speed of spreading the infection and the level of its transmission from a mother to a child and cut the rate of death from the disease," the President stressed.
"As a part of the implementation of the Political Declaration on HIV/AIDS the state is cooperating with international and nongovernmental organizations. As a result, more and more citizens can be treated properly. The specifics of the epidemics advancing require more thorough application of approaches of a social and educational character and propaganda of healthy lifestyle," the address says.
