Members of the Central Election Commission have no reasons to be ashamed of their work during the parliamentary elections in 2012, the CEC chairman Volodymyr Shapoval said during the solemn meeting on the occasion of the 15th anniversary of the Commission, ForUm correspondent reports.
He stressed that, despite the preliminary findings of the international experts, he has the right to say that the members of the Central Election Commission, members of the staff and the State Register of voters made every effort to prepare and conduct of the parliamentary elections.

"I think we have no reason to be ashamed of something. We don’t need to be proud of, let others do it, but our conscience is clear and we are sure that everything we have been doing – was right. There are tangible evidences of that," Shapoval said.

The first meeting of the CEC, as a permanent collegial public body, was held on November 13, 1997.
