Ukraine needs a law on referendum, but the Constitutional Court should review some of its provisions, the first President of Ukraine Leonid Kravchuk told a press conference, ForUm correspondent reports.

"Not having a high political culture and political will, we can open a Pandora's box," he said and added that a referendum may consist of various issues including accession to the Customs Union and NATO, the introduction of bilingualism and so on.

According to Kravchuk, it is necessary to check whether all the provisions of the law on referendum correspond with the Constitution. "If there are problems, they should be resolved in accordance with the law," he noted.

Kravchuk said that after the Constitutional Court reviews this law, the Parliament must eliminate inconsistencies.
