The General Assembly of the United Nations approved a resolution granting Palestine non-member observer state at the United Nations, the press service of the UN reported.

138 countries out of 193 voted in favor of the bid, 41 abstained, including Germany and the United Kingdom, and nine voted against it.

In particular, Israel, Canada, USA, Czech Republic, Micronesia, Palau, Panama, the Marshall Islands and Nauru voted against. And Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Moldova, Germany, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Poland, Slovakia, Slovenia, Croatia and Romania abstained.

In turn, France, Austria, Norway, Portugal and Denmark supported this resolution, as well as Russia, Belarus, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan.

Ukraine did not participate in the vote.
