Ukraine is interested in learning and applying the Norwegian experience in water power plants construction, Prime Minister Mykola Azarov told a briefing in Oslo, the Cabinet’s press service informs.

"Norway is almost one hundred percent self-sufficient in renewable energy. We are very interested in this experience, and we will pay more attention to the development of small hydropower engineering in Ukraine," Mykola Azarov said.

He stressed that Ukraine has significant potential to enhance the development of hydropower. According to him, the construction of water power plants is much cheaper than building a nuclear power plant.
