Ukraine and Qatar are working actively on expanding legal basis for further bilateral cooperation, Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych said reporters in Doha, the president’s press service informs.
The President noted the importance of contact taking place between the two countries at the high and highest level. "We expect to sign a number of documents to expand our legal basis for cooperation during the forthcoming visit by the Qatari prime minister to Ukraine," Yanukovych said.
Yanukovych said that the parties had outlined the directions, which are promising and can be used in practical actions in the issues of energy, agriculture, military, infrastructure and technical cooperation.
In addition, Yanukovych informed that Ukraine and Qatar had already set up working groups that will work on the preparation of the relevant documents.
He said that government agencies and Ukrainian business representatives would be involved in this work. According to Yanukovych, government institutions will work at the level of state commissions and sub-commissions, while businesses – within the business forums and the establishment of contacts.
