The Foreign Ministry of Ukraine stressed that the activities of the newly formed public organization "Ukrainian Congress of Russia" will be aimed at strengthening of friendship and cooperation between two countries, Foreign Ministry spokesman Oleksandr Dikusarov told a briefing, ForUm correspondent reports.
"Ukraine attaches great importance to the Russian public organization "Ukrainian Congress of Russia", the activities of which will be aimed at promoting friendship, cooperation and mutual understanding between Ukraine and Russia and will contribute to the further consolidation of Ukrainians in Russia," he said.
According to Dikusarov, the main tasks of the Ukrainian congress of Russia is to promote the preservation and development of the historical, cultural and spiritual heritage of the Ukrainian people, as well as study and promotion of the Ukrainian language among Ukrainians in Russia.
