Intensification of trade and economic relations between Ukraine and the United Arab Emirates is important in the context of cooperation between the two countries, President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych said in interview with the Ukrainian media in Abu Dhabi, ForUm learned from the President’s press service.
"Our goal is strengthening trade and economic relations. Our high-level contacts open up new possibilities," he said.
Yanukovych said that the signing of nine international agreements and treaties (six of which have already been signed in the presence of the Presidents of Ukraine and the UAE) within the framework of the visit will make possible to expand the legal possibilities in the relationship between the two countries.
Yanukovych called promising cooperation in the military-industrial sector, energy, space industry, high technology and agriculture. He added that the intergovernmental commission works on expansion of bilateral relations in these and other areas.
In addition, the President noted positive dynamics of growth of trade turnover between Ukraine and the United Arab Emirates. He expressed confidence that the current Ukrainian-Emirati Business Forum will help create the conditions and opportunities for business cooperation between the two countries.
