Ukraine joined the Council of Europe Convention on combating domestic violence, deputy social policy minister of Ukraine Vyacheslav Kolomiets told a press conference, ForUm correspondent reports.

"The issues on domestic violence must be solved at the state level. Basically, we're trying to do this. Ukraine among other 17 states joined the Council of Europe Convention on preventing and combating violence against women and domestic violence," he said.

This document, according to the official, is being approved now.

"As of today, the document is passing all internal procedures provided by the legislation of Ukraine to enter into force," Kolomiets noted.
