Ukraine is ready to defend its position on the gas agreements with Russia in international courts, energy and coal industry minister of Ukraine Yuri Boiko said in interview with the Uryadovy Kurier governmental newspaper.

"We will act in accordance with the national interest and are willing to defend them in London, Paris and Stockholm. By the way, the recent lawsuits between the Gazprom and European companies ended in the victory of European companies," Boiko said, responding to the question whether Ukraine is ready to defend its rights on gas prices in the international courts.

Boiko also said that negotiations between Russia and Ukraine continue and Ukraine’s position remains unchanged: the government is ready to negotiate as long as it is necessary to defend the interests of Ukraine.

He noted that in the negotiation process there are moments in which the parties have agreed, but there are moments in which a fundamental difference of opinion remains.
