The National Bank does not initiate the introduction of criminal prosecution for illegal currency transactions, chairman of the NBU's Committee for the prevention of dishonest foreign exchange operations Yuriy Horshkov told a press conference, ForUm correspondent reports.
"The NBU does not initiate the criminal prosecution for buying the dollar in the black market. However, we noted that a non-payment of large-scale taxes will be provided with criminal sanction and just non-payment with penalties," Horshkov said.
According to him, the State Taxation Service and the Interior Ministry but not the NBU will monitor the foreign exchange transactions. "But we are ready to coordinate this process. We receive calls and know about different places of holding the illegal currency transactions," he said.
