Verkhovna Rada speaker Volodymyr Lytvyn forecasts that five fractions will be created in the Parliament of the 7th convocation.
"The new Parliament is sure to present five factions: the Party of Regions, the All-Ukrainian Union "Fatherland" (Batkivshchyna), Vitali Klitschko's UDAR Party, the All-Ukrainian Union "Freedom" (Svoboda) and the Communist party," he said.
At the same time, he stressed that the provision of law on the establishment of the factions can be interpreted so that the deputies elected in single-mandate constituencies from the parties have grounds to announce the creation of their own factions.
"However, only speaker of the Verkhovna Rada can legalize such intention. However, I think it won’t happen," he said.
In addition, the speaker noted that the restriction on the minimum possible number of MPs in groups of makes it impossible to create such groups.
"So I can definitely assume that they will not be created, at least until 2015," he said.
Speaker of Parliament suggested that the new deputy associations in Parliament are possible only after the presidential elections, depending to their results.
