Provision of personal data to create the electronic registry of patients is absolutely voluntarily, deputy healthcare minister Oleksandr Tolstanov told a briefing, ForUm correspondent reports.
According to him, the patient can’t be refused treatment if he did not provide his data to the electronic register.

"The introduction of the registry is possible when there is necessary equipment, then information about patients will be entered. However, it will be possible to run the database when all the protection remedies provided by our state are observed. We need money for that," the official said.
According to him, the contract will be signed soon to establish a system of personal information protection in the pilot regions.

Responding question of ForUm correspondent whether a person can not mention passport number and series in a registration card, the official replied in the affirmative. "The provision of personal data is, I repeat, voluntary," Tolstanov summed.
