Ukrainians should not trust the dollar rate, president of the Ukrainian Analytical Center Oleksandr Okhrimenko said during a round table "The ideal exchange rates: expert brainstorming", ForUm correspondent reports.
"You can trust or not trust the local currency. However, it is very dangerous to trust the dollar after emission. Hryvnia depreciates faster than dollar, but the dollar and the euro also fall. It is illogical to buy dollars and think that you have protected yourself against fall," he said.
According to Okhrimenko, Ukraine's economy is affected by shadow exchange market.
"In Ukraine, there is a shadow foreign exchange market - about 20 billion. It has large influence on the economy of the country," he said.
In turn, director of the KNEU Institute of credit relations Ihor Ivasiv noted that the shadow market in Ukraine has never disappeared.
