The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine made the first move towards introduction of transport means recycling tax in Ukraine, ForUm correspondent reported from the Parliament’s session.

In particular, the bills on recycling of obsolete transport means and on amendments to the Tax Code regarding payment of environmental tax on recycling of obsolete transport means.

235 and 232 MPs, respectively, voted for the bills.
 
As author of the bills Yaroslav Sukhyi informed, the Ukrainian motor vehicle fleet currently comprises about 8 million units, of which more than hundreds of thousands are in need of recycling.
In addition, according to MP, the introduction of such a tax may bring additional 2 - 2.5 billion UAH to the state budget reserve just within first year after entry.

According to Sukhyi, the introduction of recycling tax is an adequate solution to the problem of the Ukrainian exports arising after introducing the recycling tax in Russia.

Meanwhile, the speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Volodymyr Lytvyn instructed specialized committees to prepare two bills for a second reading on an abbreviated procedure for consideration at the next plenary meeting to be held on December 4.
