Ukrainian Parliament has failed to pass the law allowing pre-school education in the languages of national minorities.

As ForUm correspondent reports, MPs have considered the bill, offering the opportunity for parents to choose language of raising children, as well as to set up pre-school establishments with education in the national language or in the languages of national minorities at the parents' request.

222 MPs out of 226 required voted in favor of the bill.

Opposition MPs said that the bill discriminated the national language.

When vice speaker Adam Martyniuk put this bill to a vote, MPs from the NU-NS faction rushed to the presidium and snatched the microphone.

Then, Martyniuk put this bill to a second vote, however there have been insufficient number of votes.

After that, the opposition deputies took their sits, and the Parliament proceeded to consider other bills on the agenda.
