Ukrainian insurance companies begin to fund projects aimed at saving human lives, director of the General Motor (Transport) Insurance Bureau of Ukraine Borys Vizirov said during meeting of the discussion club, ForUm correspondent reports.
"November 18 in Ukraine will be Road Traffic Victims Day. This is a sad event. But business and government are moving together to ensure that life conquers death. The role of insurance companies mainly consists in the financing instruments. Companies finance projects aimed at saving lives," Vizirov said.
According to him, the insurance business is also active in supporting inspection body of the Interior Ministry and the traffic police.
"The Motor (Transport) Insurance Bureau works closely with the traffic police. It’s more effective to prevent accidents than to pay damages. Now in Ukraine there is a tendency to increase the responsibility of insurance companies and insurance premiums increase," he said.
In addition, according to the participants of the discussion club, the world's loss on road accidents is 520 billion dollars each year. In Europe, the cost of one human life is estimated at one million euros.
