Ukraine is in talks to take part in the Trans Anatolian Pipeline project to transport Azerbaijani gas to Europe, the Energy and Coal Industry Ministry press office informs.

"Ukraine is in talks with partners about possible participation in the TANAP project and we have strong arguments, as almost all infrastructure, from Turkey to our borders, is ready," the press service quoted the minister's words.

Also, the report noted that Ukraine has gas storage facilities on the border with the European Union, which can be the basis for a future pipeline.

In December 2011, Azerbaijan and Turkey signed a memorandum of understanding to establish a consortium to build the Trans Anatolian Pipeline.
