MP from the Party of Regions Volodymyr Oliynik said that the party has not yet decided on its candidate for the post of speaker of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.

"The decision has not been taken at the political level, but many candidates have been called for discussion," he noted.

He noted that the media often supposes justice minister Oleksandr Lavrynovych - "experienced person, a professional lawyer, balanced person who was the first deputy chairman of the Verkhovna Rada." Oliynik says that the nominee of Lavrynovych "could be quite real".

He also believes that leader of the Party of Regions faction Oleksandr Yefremov can also become the speaker as he "is constantly in the session hall, constantly works with the MPs, has a great experience."

According to Oliynik, the Party of Regions has a lot of decent people who could hold for the post of speaker.
