Egypt and Austria take the lead in a number of accidents during vacations abroad, chairman of the company "European travel insurance" Myroslav Boychyn told press conference "New Year tourism. Where will Ukrainians celebrate New Year’s Eve 2013?" ForUm correspondent reports.

"Statistics show that there is one insured accident per 100 insured tourists. Last year, 30% of all insurance claims at foreign beach resorts occurred in Egypt, 5% - in Thailand and 3% in the United Arab Emirates. Among the ski resorts, most insurance cases happened in Austria - 10%, Bulgaria - 5%, Italy - 4%, Slovakia, France and Andorra - 3%," he said.

According to him, the average insured accident is outpatient, when a tourist goes to a doctor with mild disease or insect bite.

Boychyn said that the insurance costs at cheap overseas resorts including Egypt, Greece and Turkey amount to three dollar per ten days, at expensive European resorts – ten dollar per ten days. The insurance costs at Ukrainian resorts amount to two-three UAH per day.

He advised the Ukrainian holidaymakers travelling abroad to insure their luggage and be sure that their insured accident includes skiing at ski resorts.
