This year Ukrainians prefer Austria among the European ski resorts, member of the Tourism Association of Ukraine Olena Bukhno told press conference "New Year tourism. Where Ukrainians will celebrate New Year’s Eve 2013?", ForUm correspondent reports.

According to her, many Ukrainians usually spend New Year holidays in the Carpathians mountains. Bukhno also suggested that the Balkan ski resorts will also enjoy increase in tourists.

"Ukrainians may fly to Bulgaria not only from Kyiv, but from Kharkiv and Donetsk as well. In addition, it’s quite low-budget - no matter how cheap resort you can not find in Austria, Bulgaria will still be cheaper," the expert said.

The southern destinations are also attractive for Ukrainians.

"There are some customers who to swim in the sea and enjoy warm weather. Besides the traditional Egypt, the Arab Emirates is becoming popular," Bukhno said.

She noted that prices for holidays in the Emirates dropped a half to two times last year, and the number of tourists doubled.

"Sri Lanka is also becoming more popular. In addition, there is a very interesting sightseeing program. There is demand for India tours - it has increased due to direct Kyiv-Goa flight," she said.
Meanwhile, representative of the All-Ukrainian Association of Tour Operators Oleg Pikersky said that many Ukrainians will go to Turkey for the New Year holidays. According to him, there the winter temperature is about 20 C and the hotels offer heated pools.
