In Ukraine, starting from September 1, 2013, all fifth grade students and older will learn a second foreign language, deputy minister of education and science, youth and sports Borys Zhebrovsky during the opening of the final seminar of English resource teachers of regional pedagogical education institutes within a joint project with the British Council in Ukraine, the press service of the Ministry reported.

"Ukraine has a linguistic revolution today. Pupils not in every country begin to learn a foreign language from the first grade, and not every country learns a second foreign language. But in Ukraine, all children starting from the fifth grade will learn a second foreign language," he noted.

Zhebrovsky expressed confidence that a number of Ukrainian students learning English will reach 100% next year.
