Agrarian policy and food minister of Ukraine Mykola Prysiazhniuk believes that the bread price has increased because of more expensive energy.

"Flour makes up 35% of the bread primecost. Energy prices have raised, in addition the producers of bread have not been paid up to 50 days. To date, debt of trading networks throughout Ukraine for thirty days is 1 billion UAH. That is, manufacturers lend retailers," Prysiazhniuk said before the Cabinet’s meeting, ForUm correspondent reports.

He also said that the Agrarian Fund can provide Ukraine with flour in full, which is 250-300 cheaper than on the market.

"Today we are going to ask the Cabinet to allow bakeries to renegotiate the agreement with gas suppliers," he said.
