Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych said there is a need to improve the law on administrative responsibility.

"Imperfect and obsolete legislation in field of administrative responsibility should be revised and radically updated. You can hardly find efficient, stable and predictable the law being changed almost every month. I am referring to the Code of Administrative Offences," Yanukovych said during the coordination meeting of the law enforcement officials, the President’s press service informs.
Yanukovych emphasized that the improvement of the legislation remains one of the priorities of the government.

Certainly, the President noted, updating the legal framework will not immediately solve all the problems that have accumulated over the years in the field of criminal justice. However, he said, it will provide a quality legal foundation for further actions.

In his speech, the President also paid special attention to the fact that the law on advocacy was adopted in short period of time, whose main objective is to ensure the human right to quality legal assistance. He reminded that the law provides for increased rights of a lawyer in the collection of evidence, the introduction of mechanisms to protect the advocate secrets, etc.

"I hope that the courts and law enforcement agencies will manage to quickly put all the progressive innovations into practice," he said.
