The Christmas tree on the Independence Square will be tapered again, but look like natural, head of the Department of culture and arts of the KCSA Svitlana Zorina told a press conference, ForUm correspondent reports.
According to her, due to a great number of letters of indignant citizens of Kyiv, the KSCA started to prepare for installation of the main tree of the country in February of this year.
After a survey conducted among people of Kyiv and a work of the competition committee, the KSCA decided that the main Christmas tree would be artificial and tapered.
This year, the city budget will allocate money only for the opening ceremony of the Christmas tree, and the charity fund will give the rest of money.
According to the schedule, the ceremonial lighting of the main tree of the country will be traditionally held on St. Nicholas Day, December 19.
