President of the Football Federation of Ukraine Anatoly Konkov decided to invite Andriy Shevchenko to the post of head coach of Ukraine, the Football Federation of Ukraine press service informs.
"Shevchenko has passed an outstanding school of such famous clubs as "Dynamo"(Kiev),"Milan", "Chelsea" under the guidance of legendary coaches: Valeriy Lobanovskiy, Carlo Ancelotti, Jose Mourinho. He had a unique opportunity to incorporate their talent, their knowledge, their experience," the statement reads.
The press service also said that earlier Shevchenko made his debut in the youth and the national team under the guidance of Konkov. "Today the president of FFU offers Shevchenko a new debut," the FFU said.
In turn Konkov said that he considered the youth Shevchenko a positive factor. "Remember, nobody knows coach Josep Guardiola (head coach of the Spanish FC Barcelona- Ed.), who in several years reached incredible results! I'm sure Shevchenko also can conquer large football tops as a head coach of the Ukrainian national team, for that he has enough experience and character. The Federation, in turn, ensures all the necessary assistance during work with the national team," Konkov summed up.
