Many imprisoned Ukrainians will come out of jail following the entry into force of the new Code of Criminal Procedure of Ukraine, head of the group for the CCP development, head of the main office for the judiciary at the President’s administration, Andriy Portnov said in interview.
"I can assure you that the investigative detention facilities will be off-loaded in the period from November 20 to January 20. On November 20, many people, who will be delivered to the court to be announced a preventive measure, will not be arrested. And those who had been arrested before, will be subject to mandatory judicial review every two months," he said.
Also, he said, if a two months period for someone falls on November 21, he will be able to bail and go at large.
Speaking about the implementation of a home arrest mechanism, advisor to the President said that it is planned to introduce bracelets with a navigation system to transmit the coordinates of the person via mobile network, but this solution is not yet ready.
