Formation of election commissions by draw was a mistake, Yanukovych says

Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych considered that mistakes committed during this year elections should be taken into account while introducing amendments to law on elections.
In particular, the President is sure that procedure of forming district election commissions on the basis of a draw was a mistake.

"The amendment introduced by opposition lawmakers and then supported by members of the parliamentary majority that the commission should be formed from these parties on the basis of a draw was a mistake. I think the new convocation of the parliament should revise the law on elections, not to allow these mistakes in future," Yanukovych told reporters in Nicosia during his visit to Cyprus.

He suggested that it would be better to form the commissions from among the parliamentary parties.
