The government is seriously alarmed at the situation with vote counting in some single-mandate constituencies during the parliamentary elections, Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov declared, the press service of the Cabinet reports.

Azarov asked the Central Election Commission to ensure that the counting of votes finishes before legal deadlines and to take all necessary measures.

Azarov reminded that the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine established a temporary commission to determine the compliance status of the electoral law in some single-member constituencies.

According to him, the government is ready to fully support all these efforts.

"Of course, we will consider all the comments of international observers to make the electoral law more complete and fully comply with the European standards and requirements," Azarov stressed.

The Premier believes that it is necessary to return to the development of the Electoral Code, which will effectively improve the electoral legislation.

"I would like to call upon all political forces that care about the future of our country to start negotiations with the objective of creating a broad coalition on the basis of European values for the consolidation of all healthy forces in society and the further development of Ukraine and implementation of the policy of European integration," Azarov summed up.
