The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine plans to introduce the vehicle recycling tax on imported cars at the legislative level, not by making government resolutions, ecology and natural resources minister of Ukraine Eduard Stavitsky said.
Earlier, the government has prepared a draft resolution, which provide for the vehicle recycling tax, which now applies only to cars imported from Russia, to cover imports of these goods from all the countries.
It was planned to reach an agreement with Russia on the non-collection of the tax in bilateral trade by establishing national regimes. However, the corresponding intergovernmental agreement was not signed, as planned, on 28 September during the Summit of Heads of Governments of the CIS in Yalta.
