The police have not ruled out that a criminal case that was earlier opened against Yaroslav Mazurok, the suspect in the killing of security guards in the Karavan shopping mall in Kyiv, could be closed if the results of a DNA test confirm that a man that was found dead in Kyiv on November 7 is the suspect.
"If it is confirmed that the body found is Mazurok's, then, perhaps, the case will be closed in connection with the death of the suspect," the media liaisons office of the Ukrainian Interior Ministry reported.
In addition, the police will continue to investigate whether anyone was hiding Mazurok and providing any assistance to him.
"If this is confirmed, then there will be another criminal case," the ministry said.
