The organization and holding of parliamentary elections 2012 have been the best for all the years of Ukrainian independence, Prime Minister Mykola Azarov has said during the Cabinet’s meeting on Wednesday, ForUm correspondent reports.

"In 95% of the DECs they passed so that, for example, foreign observers called them exemplary. Only few constituencies have conflicts," said Azarov.

According to him, several problematic constituencies should not affect the overall assessment of the democratic elections and the formation of the new composition of the Parliament.

"Different disputes, conflicts, sharp contradiction is present almost at all elections in different countries. This is no surprise and is perceived as a phenomenon accompanying democracy. Why do such cases in Ukraine cause hysteria?

Why do those, who block the work of the election commissions, accuse the authorities of delaying or distortion of vote counting? I remind those, who are trying to present the situation as it is: the government does not influence the work of the election commissions and the establishment of the election results," the PM assured.

He also recalled that the election commissions were formed of representatives of all political forces. "So what claim to power may be? None. I state it officially and categorically. We provided all the conditions for the election commissions: timely financing, installation of video cameras, protection of polling stations and public order during the voting," he said.
