Parliament allowed increasing import duties on certain goods

The Verkhovna Rada has allowed increasing the rates of import duty on goods of crop science, chemical products, plastics, polymers and equipment of mechanical pressure.

The corresponding bill on amendments to the law "On customs tariff" was supported by 264 MPs in the second reading.

According to the speaker, head of the relevant committee on finance and banking, tax and customs policy Vitaly Khomutynnyk, the changes will affect goods, the production of which have been already carried out in Ukraine or can be provided under condition of the domestic producers support.

The law provides changes of about 100 commodity codes, and it will increase the additional revenue to the state budget in the amount of 500 million UAH in 2013.
