The government authorized economic development and trade minister Petro Poroshenko to sign an Additional Agreement between the government of Ukraine and the European Union represented by the European Commission on financing of joint operational programs "Hungary - Slovakia - Romania – Ukraine of 2007-2013," "Poland - Belarus - Ukraine of 2007-2013" and "Romania - Ukraine - Republic of Moldova of 2007-2013," the press service of the Economic Development and Trade Ministry reported.

The corresponding decree was developed by the Economic Development and Trade Ministry and adopted on October 31, 2012 at the meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.

The purpose of the Additional Agreement is to extend the terms of the agreements on financing of three above-mentioned joint operating cross-border programs for one year - from 31.12.2014 till 31.12.2015. The extension of the agreement implementation will allow to conclude contracts for new projects involving Ukrainian beneficiaries and partners, including large-scale infrastructure projects, and to complete the implementation of existing projects.

These projects will modernize the checkpoints across the state border, improve the transport and energy infrastructure of border areas and emergency preparedness.
