Ukraine has been showing a steady growth in wages, most of all - in the public sector, the Cabinet’s press service informs.

"One of the characteristics of the modern labor market in Ukraine is a steady growth in wages - both the nominal (expressed in monetary units for a period of time) and real (CPI-adjusted)," the press service statement reads.

Since the growth of nominal wages has constantly outpaced consumer price increase, increase in real wages for the nine months of 2012 amounted to almost 15%, which is twice higher than within the same period in 2011.

The government also informed that the average monthly nominal salary of the staff of enterprises, institutions and organizations in January-September 2012 amounted to 2975 UAH and compared with the corresponding period in 2011 increased by 15.7%.

"The salary increase in industrial enterprises grew by 12.9%, construction - 12.5%, transport and communications - 11.5%. The highest increase was registered in the institutions and organizations, which are primarily funded through the budget (education, cultural activities and sports, health care and social assistance institutions) – 22.6-24.5%," the press-service stressed.
